Editorial policy: how we check every fact

Short answerChecked 23 September 2026
Every fact on Tulinde comes from a primary source — an Act of Parliament, a regulator's website or circular, or an official annual report — and is linked on the page. If we cannot source something, we do not publish it.

Where our facts come from

  • Laws: the text of the Act or proclamation (Kenya Law, ULII, TanzLII, the Federal Negarit Gazette) or the regulator's copy of it.
  • Regulators: the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Kenya, the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda, the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority and the Ethiopian insurance supervisor.
  • Figures: only from official annual reports or regulator statistics, with the year shown.

What we will not publish

  • Premium prices we have not seen in an official schedule. Prices depend on the insurer, the vehicle, your age and your history — only a quote tells you yours.
  • Star ratings, 'best insurer' rankings or customer reviews.
  • Advice presented as a recommendation to buy a specific policy.

Reviews and corrections

Each page shows the date it was last reviewed. Laws and lists change: when a regulator publishes a new list or a law is amended, we update the page and its date. Found a mistake? Use the feedback button on any page — corrections are checked against the source and published with a new review date.
